Just knkow there are lots of references to the Bible. Lots of reading passages. You can usually find them at Sam's Club for dirt cheap. It's a tremendous book. I did Breaking Free several months ago - very time consuming, but a beautiful study. Since then, I purchased the "Beth Moore Collection" of seven (I think) of her books, and am reading through them one-by-one as part of my morning quiet time. Each one is so in-depth and personal - I feel so much better acquainted with the Bible, Biblical times, and with each disciple she focuses on in the books. Each book has been my favorite as I read through it. I’m reading Jesus The One and Only right now. It’s a tremendous book.

I'm looking for something to do with a group of my neighbors next fall (this year we did my book Oxygen which is a devotional, which they liked--but there was very little homework except to read a bit and try some spiritual practices.) dotsie,

Her indepth studies do require quite a bit of time so I actually divide each day's reading/work into two different days. The two I've done most recently are Stepping Up (A Journey through the Psalms of Ascent) and Believing God (Experiencing a Fresh Explosion of Faith). If the indepth studies are done in a group, there are dvd lessons by Beth, but I think the studies can be done without the dvds and still be beneficial. Her studies are wonderful. One of Beth Moore's that I just bought for my daughter is one that probably fits a personal quiet time better than the indepth ones. It is: Jesus - 90 Days with the One and Only.
