I LOVE “Fess up Friday!”
I love Suze’s FESS UP FRIDAY blog! If you didn’t read it, make sure to read yesterdays Boomer Babes Rock blog posting (Friday, June 27) by T. Suzanne Eller. I’ll fess up first that I am running horribly late right now for an all-day event. So I must make this quick. However, I am going to come back tomorrow (Sunday) to give y’all an update on what I’m going to be doing all day today.
I have many things to “fess up.” But the one that comes to mind right this very minute is that I love beauty pageants and award shows. I grew up watching them on TV. Maybe it was the fashions, the bling, or the fantasy world, I don’t know. Any way, I am off today to be one of the judges for the MRS. TEXAS pageant. The winner of this pageant will go on to compete in the Mrs. America pageant. Check out the contestants here: www.mrstexas.net the judging panel is here: www.mrstexas.neet/judges.htm
Am I alone in this confession? Any other pageant or award show junkies out there? Share your thoughts and memories and speak up. I’ll be back on Sunday to share the results. And, if I can ever figure out how to upload a photo to the blog, I’ll post a photo of me with the new Mrs. Texas 2008! See y’all later!

I just wrote a long response to this and lost it.
We were just in Florida and all these pageants were being held at the hotel where we were staying. The kids begin all this at age 5, which I think is way too young. Can you imagine these little kids walking around in evening gowns at that age?

I am delighted to find other boomer bloggers. So many are for young mothers, which I also enjoy, but it’s nice to be able to share senior moments!
