Greetings to our loyal BBR readership. It is with a mixture of sadness and joy that I publish this post today. Sadness because our awesome team of Boomer Babe Bloggers will no longer be posting on the Boomer Babes Rock Blog as of Saturday, July 26.
I have decided to place the BBR Blog on a temporary hold until the first of January, 2009. It was a difficult decision to make…but once made…it felt right.
This past year, I have spent a great deal of time contemplating and praying about the business decisions I needed to make, in order to be a good steward of my time, energy, money, and other vital resources. And, it has taken the past six weeks to begin to carry out those decisions. Yes, sadness has played a role in some of the decisions I have had to make.
But, so to, has joy.
There is a peaceful feeling of joy in my heart as I release the things that God has placed on my heart to release. Many of us Boomer Babes are guilty of the “Trying-To-Do-It-All-Syndrome.” I know I’m not alone. We speak of that malady often on the BBR Blog. I’ve even co-authored a non-fiction book on the topic with bestselling author Tracie Peterson and Dianne O’Brian, called: I CAN’T DO IT ALL, BREAKING FREE FROM THE LIES THAT CONTROL US.
One would think I would know better. Alas, old habits are hard to break.
In a nutshell, as new and exciting opportunities have opened to me over the years, and as my own personal passions and purpose shifted, I haven’t been very good at the releasing part. Lately, my life has been kind of like having an overstuffed closet where it’s not only impossible to hang even one more thing (not that any of us can relate to that) but where it’s so overstuffed with choices you can’t decide what to wear.
I never expected to write a a book on how to set boundaries with our adult children. Yet I did, and its been such a blessing to watch people around the country find peace and joy as they implement my Six Steps to SANITY. What I’ve found during the journey of setting boundaries with my adult son is that setting boundaries isn’t somethng we do once and awhile. It’s an ongoing process and touches every area of life. That’s why I’ve decided to make some changes in my business model and restructure my strategic business plan to better reflect my passions and purpose.
When we begin to take steps to CHANGE, God often shows up in a mighty way. I’m excited about what God is doing in my life, in the lives our amazing BBR Blog Team, and in the lives of our BBR readers.
Please continue to visit the BBR Blog during this last week and post your comments, we would love to hear from you. Stop back on Saturday the 26th when I post the final message that will remain posted on our BBR Blog until we go live again in 2009.
Boomer Babes Rock will NOT disappear, we are just taking a well-needed vacation of sorts. Additionally, we will have some exciting things to announce in 2009 as we re-organize the entire BBR outreach. If you haven’t done so already, make sure to subscribe to our BBR Newsletter as we’ll keep you posted as things progress. You can sign up here.
Once again, I thank you dear readers, and dear writers. It has been a wonderful experience to work with the Boomer Babe Blog team since January of 2007. I hope you will continue to visit their personal Blogs and web sites. We will be leaving their profile pages and connecting links active on the BBR Blog and encourage you please to stay in touch with them.
It has been a joyful journey. Thank you for supporting and encouraging us. May the God of peace continue to shine the light of his love on you and yours.

BBR Bog Team, I’m going to miss you all! I pray that God will bless each of you during this hiatus, and I’ll be checking back in 2009. Rock on! : )
As soon as I hit “post” with my previous comment, I noticed I called you the Bog team : ) Sorry about that. Don’t want you to feel bogged down — want you to rock on! : )
I’ll miss you, too, ladies, but look forward to seeing your around the ‘net!

This has become a fun place to “gather” and share - unlike any other I’ve been a part of. We will all take much away from it, i’m sure. Enjoy your break.
